Open Curb Installation Kit

The EnviroSafe™ Modular Stormwater Catch Basin Filter System has a mounting kit which was developed specifically for installation in open curb inlets.
What is provided:
• Cartridge basin, filters or sediment sack
• 4 supporting cleats to mount to vault walls
• 2 uncut aluminum rails to support basin
• 2 mounting flanges to seat on rails
• 1 Flow collector assembly and hardware

Mount the Cleats:
Install the 4 support cleats to opposite walls, 2 parallel on each wall to support the 2 rails. Place cleats so that they are at the same height and just below the curb inlet. Each cleat will be held by 4 concrete anchors inserted into walls.

Once the cleats are attached, measure distance between opposite pairs to determine length of each supporting rail.

Install the Rails:
Use distance measured between opposing cleats to cut the supporting rails to the proper lengths. Rails should be parallel, at the same height and just below the curb inlet.

Prepare the Basin:
Z-shaped flanges attach to the filter body using the dovetail ways. These flanges allow the cartridge basin to straddle the rails, with the filter suspended between.

Flow Controller Assembly:
Connect the flange supports to the EnviroSafe cartridge basin. The flow controller assembly is attached to the edge that is nearest the curb inlet opening.

The flow controller assembly consists of an aluminum mounting rail and a rubber flap. For ease of installation, mount the aluminum rail first. The flap can be added later once the unit is in place.

Mount onto Rails:
Lower the cartridge basin throught the open manhole. The basin needs a minimum 22" diameter opening.

Using flanges for support, the EnviroSafe cartridge basin straddles the dual rails.

After the unit has been positioned on the rails, the flow collector flap may be installed.

Service & Maintenance:
Install EnviroSafe filter cartridges after the basin is in place. Future servicing and replacement of cartridges can take place through the open manhole.
